My Family Revealed!!!
Hershey revealed tid bits of information about his secretary and his family. It was very interesting to read, don't ya'll think? I know ya'll are just dying to know about my family too, right?
Can I turn this into a tag game? Luckie, Copper, and Ivy tag, you're it!! Reveal some info on your secretary and tag three others.
First off, here is a pic of my parents taken at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, April 2007:
My dad's name is Dad, he has a blue dot head, and he works for a major health company. I'm not gonna say which company cause I don't want to get bombarded with negative emails about health care organizations, but I will say that he worked on the company's web site's online appointments... you know, when you make appointments to see the doctor.....so, some of you may have seen his work if you are in one of their regions. He is a web programmer/project manager/security design consultant dealing with the company's web site.
My mom's name is Mom and she is a web programmer. I come from a nerdy dysfunctional family, don't I? She works for a big big university and has been there for tooooooo long. She went to school there, had a part time job there when she went to college, then worked there when she graduated. People make fun of her and joke about how she's never left school. She enjoys card making, gardening (but doesn't do that much now because of the clay dirt that is impossible to dig), making blankets, sewing curtains for the house, used to sew bandanas for me until she discovered ribbon necklaces.... I guess she likes to try to be creative. My Mom sometimes telecommutes from home so that she can keep me company. If not, then I get to go to my grandparents' house which is really cool. I don't like to be alone, so it works out well, except that my grandparents don't exactly live next door, so my parents spend a lot of time on the road, shuttling me back and forth. Am I lucky or what!!!
My parents met online. Yes siree, they did. My mom posted an ad, just for kicks... what did she have to lose. And the rest is historyyyyyyyy!!!! Actually, if you ask my Dad how they met, he'll say they met through a friend. (they actually did have a common mutual friend... and they both worked for the university) He thinks people will think it's stupid if he tells them they met online.
My parents don't have any kids other than me, but maybe the stork will drop off a little human girl one day. I think I would be okay with that. My Mom promises that I will still be their favorite. Do you think that's true? If I get a human sister one day, my mom says she wants to paint the baby's room purple because that's her favorite color. I think Hershey's Mom's favorite color is green... what do you all think?
Both my parents are only children. That means if my parents get a baby one day, the baby won't have any uncles or aunts or cousins. That is sad, isn't it? Also, because my parents are both only children and they are one of the younger ones amongst their cousins, neither of them have any experience with little people. If the stork brings a baby one day, my mom says she is scared she won't know what to do with the human baby. But then someone she knows said they felt the same way when the stork brought them a human baby, and people told them to just pretend the human baby is like a puppy and then things will come naturally.

Hiya Hana,
Oh wow, you just tagged me and I've gotta think about how to write about my parents. They are very shy.
Oh my dog, my parents only have me too and they too met online! Yes, via this thingy called IRC like donkey years ago. :) It's not wierd to meet your special one online is it? I mean I could meet my only lurrrve online too one day?
You asked me some questions. Not every apartment in Singapore has air-conditioning. It depends if the hoomans living there wants to it. And yes, restaurants have a 10% service charge factored in and it's not compulsory to leave a tip behind. But that's only for restaurants, there are many other eating places without service charge (no tips required too!). I will answer Copper & your question about language in my blog. That surname part is tough. I've gotta do more research.
This is so neat! We just learned lots about you and now we know lots about your mom and dad! You're a lucky girl Hana to have such hard-working, good looking parents!
Love ya lots,
Maggie
A blue dot head? I don't understand. Neat picture of your humans!
Yeah, the Furminator works REALLY good! Hey, I could probably make an Eskie out of all of the fur in that bag!
hana! i liked learning about your mom and dad, and i like how their names are mom and dad!! :) my mom and dad knew each other in high school but started dating after college over aol IM! mom lived in NYC and dad lived in augusta so they only talked over IM for months! so they kinda met over the internet. or at least they dated on the internet. i think your mom wants a baby! tell her not to worry, they aren't that hard. the first 6 weeks are ROUGH but miriam is MUCH easier now. and mom says that having me was totally great training for having miriam. and i love her, i think. so you would be great with a little baby in your house! and yes mom's current favorite color is green, she looooooves it!
Hi, Hana.
Thanks for sharing your Dad and Mom story.
Every day I know more and more people who meet through internet!
Are you ready for a human sister??
I hope so!
Have a nice day
Lorenza
I loved reading about your Mom and Dad Hana. That is somewhat not fair that they have an astronaut photo to lean on though. My Mom says she is going to be creative. Oh, and she said to tell you that one big difference between puppies and babies is that babies won't poddy outside.
well, actually they will love to poddy outside ... but not till they are older ....and then you really don't want them to poddy outside .... unless it's an emergency. Whatever!!! ... I think babies are mixed up!!!
Hana, thanks for sharing information about your people. My girl doesn't think it is weird that your parents met online. She's met quite a few people online but didn't like any enough to keep around. Glad your mom liked your dad! They look like fun people to have.

Woh Hana, that's really interesting facts about your parents. I'm sure they'll still love you if they have a baby girl

Both my human sisters met their bf's online! It's how things work nowadays. Hey - if the stork leaves you a baby sister and your Mom treats it like a puppy then you would have extra kibble to steal. I think she shouldn't feed a human baby kibble - she should feed it treats!!!
Hey Hana! Luckie tagged ME for this game, so I came to check out "how it was done"! Cool idea!
By the way, you have the same name as my girl, but she spells her differently! :-)
Your mom and dad sure have intersting jobs. My Humans are quite boring! What's the deal with saying your dad was a blue head?
Big Wags,
Isabella
Ah-hem, let me set the record straight. My parents are NOT expecting a stork to drop off anything anytime soon.... maybe not for a few years?
hey hey hana! i am catching up on reading your bloggy and it wuz fun to read about your cool and nerdy parents. my peepol are crazy computer peepol too and it makes me crazy wen they hog the computer at home instead of letting me blog or taking me for walks on the leash!
i will haf to get around to revealing my peepol pretty soon.
Hi Hana,
Its a nice read about your parents!
They look very cute in that picture! My parents sort of met online too hehehehe
Isn't it cool?
Fate is a funny thing ain't it.
Love,
Reina
