How Much Does It Cost You?

This is in reference to the prior post on getting my teeth cleaned. For the complete story, see this link. My mom still has to help work with my pictures, but here are some of them.

Here I am waiting at the vet's office:

Here is the "BEFORE" photo. Notice all the stains and the receeding red gums. If you look at my lower "fang", you will see my gums don't even look red... they almost look light purple!! Not too healthy, huh? My mom still has to take a picture of the "AFTER" when my teeth are pearly white!

Some dogs seem to think 300-500 greenies is the normal cost for a dental cleaning, but others think it is overpriced. Here is the breakdown so you know what it cost at my vet office, then you can compare kibble to kibble and not kibble to biscuits.

Oh, a normal vet appointment just to see the vet costs $42.25. What does your vet charge for an office visit and dental cleaning? I betcha my vet charges more greenies! I wonder if it's a California thing. My other vet who I sometimes see charges $45.

*All prices are listed in US Dollars.

copper's neighbor miss cindy the vet doesn't charge an office fee!! at all! my mom loves it! that is why i had to go to the vet in augusta, 7 HOURS away from my house in richmond. it would have cost $200 just for the yearly stuff for nixon AND me, in richmond. miss cindy only charged $100. and that was without buying the heartgaurd, frontline, etc. mom says for all our yearly stuff we are driving to augusta to see the vet! hana, maybe you should drice to augusta too to see miss cindy. how far is california?

the reason miss cindy is cheaper is cause she is a "clinic" and is also way out in the country.

Hana, our vet just raised their prices. A normal office visit is $45.50 and that doesn't include shots, medicines or blood tests.

The beef broth is just so it's tasty, you can use chicken too. Your prices are only a little higher than ours here in the Seattle area...must be a CA thing

Ender, take a look at my previous post titled "My Secretary is TOO busy" and it talks a bit about my teeth cleaning. I ended up NOT using ACE, so I can't report on it. But, I came through fine! Whew! The vet tech also mentioned that I didn't need to take home any medicine, so hopefully that is a good sign there weren't any complications.

BLU and Comet, my mom says she is quite surprised your vet's office visit price is so expensive. Things in AZ are usually much cheaper, like the houses and gasoline for instance!

Hi Hana,
You looked like you had fun at the vet in the picture ~ :)
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Will update with how my pee tray works soon. We live in an apartment and mom doesn't take me out to go so I'm toilet-trained indoors.
A basic doggie annual vaccination is around US$25. Mom says my spaying costs around US$100 and that's cos I'm consider a small breed doggie.
