Slave Labor!! Plus Picture for Ivy

Over the summer my parents put me to work on improving the backyard patio. I guess this is what I have to do in order get food and shelter. Oh well, a dog's gotta do what a dog's gotta do. My parents work all day at their regular jobs, so I guess they figured I should do some work, too. So, my project started out with a car ride to Home Depot.

Isabella and Ivy, do you get to go to the home improvement store with your parents? I gotta admit it is nice getting compliments from the customers who always ask my parents which aisle they could find a dog like me in.

My parents chose the giant heavy tiles. Hmph! You'd think I would have some say since I was the one who was going to be installing the tiles on the patio!! Let me tell ya, the bigger 18x18 tiles are much heavier than the little tiles. My paws could barely lift them!!

I started the project in May. Here I am resting after preparing the cracks in the existing concrete. I'm exhausted, and this is just the first day on the job!!

And here I am sleeping on the job....

So, I did a lot of sleeping on the job, but I finally made progress and here I am getting the finishing touches (wood pieces) at Lowe's. (No, I did not chew the wood pieces when I got them home, though I believe some of you others would have.)

After all that work, here are the results....

This is the old patio:

And here is the new patio:

Of course, I had to get a picture of me with the patio since I was the one who did all the work!!!

And this is me again, exhausted from slave labor. I could sleep for a year after all that!

So, enough of that! I have a picture for Ivy! The Ivy Room has lots and lots of peanuts and pretzels and goldfish and chex mix and snacks for Ivy. Oh, and beer of course! This place is near where my momma grew up. Momma drives by it a couple times a week now. The funny thing is she has never been to the Ivy Room. Gosh, you'd think she would stop by for all those snacks and things! Silly woman! I should have gone to the Ivy Room to relax each day after all the patio tile work.

Wow! I am impressed Hana! You should have your own show in the HGTV network. I have never gotten to go to the home improvement store. After seeing all the work you had to do, I don't think I want to go to one. I'd rather hang out all day at the Ivy place with all the treats.

Hana,
Your patio looks great, but it looks like it was a LOT of work. How did you get all the tiles in without breaking a nail?

Nice Job, Hana.

You deserve a big treat for doing that. I would love to go in to the DIY store - here in London the shops are not very dog friendly and I have to howl in the car.

Great job Hana. Did you leave a spot for a pawprint and star like they have in Hollywood? You can immortalize your pawprints in cement.

Hana, great work on the patio! We hope our mom doesn't get any ideas to put us to work. We are busy defending the house and yard.
