My Friend Gypsy Needs Help
Hi Friends! I am very sorry for not updating my bloggy in quite a while. My secretary has been really busy with taxes and work and has not had the energy to help me update my bloggy. She has also been setting up a medical auction fundraiser!
My friend Gypsy, the American Eskimo Dog, has been diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder called Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). It’s an autoimmune disease where the immune system destroys blood platelets. Low platelets cause spontaneous internal bleeding. Gypsy has been in the ICU at the Cornell Veterinary Hospital in New York for two weeks now and she has at least 5 more days to go. Earlier this week the doctors removed a cystic mass that was 4 inches x 2 inches x 2 inches and had a track which was going up her face. After surgery, she developed a staph infection. Poor Gypsy.
My Mom and I are helping to run a medical fundraiser to help pay for all the expensive vet bills. (Casper D Dog is also helping.) If you have any items to donate or want to bid on any items, you may contact us at helpgypsy1 at yahoo dot com for more information. Also, check out the auction web site by clicking on Gypsy's photo below.
Some items have already been posted, but we still have more to come!!! Items are being accepted through April 28, 2009.
OH OH OH!!! I almost forgot to mention that we are donating a ribbon necklace!!! So if you ever wanted to have one, now is a very good reason to get one because the money is going to help Gypsy.
*Sorry. USA and Canada participants only. This is so mailing costs are minimized.
