Peanut Butter Pumpkin Treats!
My friends, Hanna and Jasmine, sent us a gift last month. It included a pink paw print ribbon, dog bone shaped sprinkles, and a dog bone shaped cookie cutter. I used the cookie cutter to make peanut butter pumpkin cookies for me and I gave some to Casper D Dog when he took me on a shopping date last weekend.
Here are the ingredients. Pretty simple. Even a dog like me can bake simple cookies like these.

She said I could sample the peanut butter:

The cookies are ready for baking:

I parked myself next to the stove in the dark, waiting patiently for them to bake. I am a smartypants. I absolutely KNEW the cookies were for ME!

I spied more cookies on the table and willed them to come to me, but it did not work. Hmphf.

My Mom said the whole house smelled wonderful with yummy cookies baking, so of course she and my Dad and Grandpa tasted my cookies. Grandpa said he wouldn't lie and said they weren't the best cookies he's tasted.
Thanks, Hanna and Jasmine! The cookies were fun to bake and eat! And thank you for the bone shaped sprinkles and paw print ribbon.... I gotta get my Mom to start thinking about my barkday. She keeps saying she has too much on her mind and might forget!

PEANUT BUTTER AND PUMPKIN DOG TREATS
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cook Time: 40 Minutes
Ready In: 1 Hour 40 Minutes
Yields: 25 servings
INGREDIENTS:
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
2 eggs
1/2 cup canned pumpkin
2 tablespoons peanut butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. Whisk together the flour, eggs, pumpkin, peanut butter, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl. Add water as needed to help make the dough workable, but the dough should be dry and stiff. Roll the dough into a 1/2-inch-thick roll. Cut into 1/2-inch pieces.
3. Bake in preheated oven until hard, about 40 minutes.
(I thought I read the treats are perishable, probably because of the pumpkin, so refrigerate the main portion while you dole out the daily portions.)

All done!

Here is a close up of the dog bone shaped sprinkles. Mom says she will use them for my barkday but has been a bit unclear whether she will use them on a cake for me or on a cake for her. I think she must be teasing me.

And this is the paw print ribbon. Mom says she will try to make me a new necklace for my barkday!

And last but not least, this is a video of me mumbling and grumbling because I know cookies are on the table. I was saying "Someone get those cookies moving and into my tummy!" To get the best viewing experience of this 30 second video, you need to have your volume turned on.
Thanks, Hanna and Jasmine! The cookies were fun to bake and eat! And thank you for the bone shaped sprinkles and paw print ribbon.... I gotta get my Mom to start thinking about my barkday. She keeps saying she has too much on her mind and might forget!

We don't understand. How could they make cookies for you and then not let you have them? What was the point?

I'z loved yours video
You are so lucky to have a mom that bakes cookies for you. You would be even luckier if she actually let you have them.
Our girl never bakes anything for us. That's because picky BLU won't eat them, which means they would be all mine. And for some reason, the girl doesn't like that - she says I'm too fat as it is.

WOOHOO!!!!! I can't wait for Mom to make these for me!!!!! Thanks for sharing the recipe!!!

OMG, we are drooling! What beautiful cookies they are! Save one for each of us - we're on our way!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
I forgot to mention to everyone that the cookies smell like peanut butter, even though so little peanut butter was used. Smells yummy, but my Mom still says they are not her favorite cookies. I like them though!
Hana,
I LOVE pumpkin AND peanut butter so these cookies sound like a taste of heaven! They would be perfect on a chilly winter day lying on the bed in the sun...as well as warm from the oven! I am going to ask mom to make me some...you are SOOOO lucky!
My mom has been so sad....but your video just made her laugh, thank you! Mom is printing out the cookie recipe right now, like Bear needs more food. Bear eats all MY food AND his food.
Thanks for asking about Misty. She is doing ok so far. Mom keeps giving her fluids about every 3 days and that seems to perk her up, but she is so thin. We will keep you posted.

Uh, mom was just reading the recipe in detail. She thinks this is a recipe for humans too!
I still say that a little salmon mixed in would be superb!

Hi Hana!
Those cookies look wonderful! I will have to tell my owners to make some for me right away!

Hana, thank you so for sharing this recipe with us. My Mommy is very excited to make them for us. She only has a star cookie cutter though. She can't find a dog bone cookie cutter. Hana, did you sit by the oven until the cookies were taken out there? I loved your video!

Teddy Bear
You've got the idea, Hana! The bag was knit with 100% wool on #10 needles and you toss it in the washing machine to shrink it and shrinks and it tightens up and voila - you're felting!
Hope this helps!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
That sure looks very yummy

Hi Hana!
I just wanted to let you know that I have given you an award! Stop by my blog to pick it up!

Thanks for sharing your recipe! I like the begging noises you make in your video. I can tell you really like your cookies!
Hugs, Kodak
Hey Hana,
No, Mom hasn't made the cookies for me yet. Our oven is pretty much dead and since the cookies are bake for more than 30 minutes and they're supposed to be hard when they come out of the oven, Mom said we'll wait until they finally decide on a new range. It took Mom an hour to make fries and chicken nuggets last night and they weren't crispy at all. Mom is going through baking withdrawl and is wondering if she still remembers how. They're getting close to making a decision and Mom says we have all the ingredients and she even has some new cookie cutters that are dog and bone shaped so once the new oven is finally in place she said she'll make them for us! I can't wait!!!!

Wow our Mom never makes cookies for our woofies. We hope they don't see your blog!! We liked your video!

Those cookies look so delicious!! Hana, you must be a very good girl for your mommy to make personal cookies just for you!!
YUUUUMMMMYY!!!

Hi Hana,
Check out the pictures from my mom's show!
Hana,
At mom's show sbesides being the offical drip and drop cleaner-upper, Steve gave me cheese bread and humus on pita because he said I was an excellent hostess!
Mom did have a list of prices for some of her pieces but she really did it more for the exhibition.
HI Hana,
Thanks for letting me know about the GG Kennel Club. Only show dogs are allowed? Are the serious? I think we are prettier than any show dog out there!
Love,
Teddy Bear
hai hana! me lufs peanut butters. it taste nom.
Hi Hana,
Yes, Sierra loves the kitchen too. My Mommy is very careful to not drop anything when she is cooking...when she does (rarely) she tells us no and quickly picks up whatever she dropped.
Love,
Teddy Bear
Hana, your parents think you need to go on a diet? I think you look great! Sometimes my parents think that I am fat but it's hard for them not to give me food. We are so lucky!
Love,
Teddy Bear
Girl, those cookies look sooo good!
