I must tell Hershey about this. We have to make sure our crafty Mom's don't read how to do make these ribbon necklaces. If they do, they will surely make us wear them. Yikes.

Thanks for mentioning that peepol should watch their doggies carefully when they are wearing ribbon necklaces.

I have a story to tell you. Our old dog named Holly used to wear an old fashioned collar with a buckle and her rabies tag attached with an 'S' ring. They had a quilt on the bed that had crocheted stars sewn onto the top of the quilt. Holly liked to sleep on the bed during the day. Several times Mom and Dad came home and found Holly 'hooked' on the quilt via the 'S' ring on her rabies tag ... stuck to the quilt. Mom was busy raising kids and didn't know any better.

Because she is smarter now, I have a break-away collar and my name tag slides on my collar so it can't catch on anything. She also doesn't make me wear my rabies tag. She does this all for safety because she loves me.

Oh Hana .. how could you??? First, there were the hands .. then the antlers ... now I just know there will be a ribbon necklace in my future! How can I keep up my manly reputation in a ribbon necklace? Captains of the I.R.U wear ribbons on their chests, not around their necks! Oh woe is me.

Hana, I had just about forgiven you, and now you further humiliate me! What did I ever do to you?

Hana, luv ya! Keep tormenting BLU! You can post our pictures (and especially BLU's) anywhere you want. Hehehe.

ps. Our girl said that your mom should post more instructions or a close up picture of how she made the knot. Our girl wasn't sure if it was just a regular knot or something special. She ended up making a loop like a latch-hook rug (fold the ribbon in half, then pull the two ends through the loop formed by the fold).

I'm so glad I found this, been looking for instructions for a while now. I've tried doing it myself and it never came out just right. I'll be making these for shelter doggies that need homes...and they thank you very much for your blog and recipe!! Too cute!
